Sony EVDO/HSPA VAIO netbook revealed by FCC
Published 12/1/2008 by Chris Davies at SlashGear
... using either a trackpoint or an optical mouse as found on the Samsung Omnia and Raon Digital Everun Note.
Sony have previously attempted to dismiss the netbook segment, but back in September the company admitted that they would likely release their own version simply to have a presence in the market. The eventual product is likely to be priced at a premium, both because of its wireless connectivity and because of the Sony brand.

Is this Sony’s upcoming netbook?
Published 12/1/2008 by Doug Aamoth at CrunchGear
... is. Apparently the label is 128mm wide, which would put the dimensions of the rest of the computer at roughly 9.5 inches wide by 4.5 inches deep. The label mentions Windows, so this machine appears to be a full computer of some type. Speaking of “type”, Sony better have something magical in store for that 4.5-inch keyboard if people are supposed to be able to type on this thing.
Further details are still murky, so let’s all keep our pants on until we get more info.

That Sony "netbook" might not exactly be a netbook
Published 12/1/2008 by Kevin C. Tofel at jkOnTheRun
... Did you see that the FCC paparazzi are at it again? Today's feature photo is for a Sony device that Engadget sleuths out as roughly 9.5" x 4.5". I think that their size guess-timate is actually a little large and I suspect that this isn't a netbook in the traditional sense. Of course, my guess is no better than anyone else's, but here's my thought process: ...
Gadget Leak: Sony PCG-1P1L and PCG-1P2L Netbooks
Published 12/2/2008 by Christen da Costa at Gadget Review
Due to an FCC filing two new Sony Netbooks have been leaked. Unfortunately, no substantial pics exist, but what we do know is that the units are 9.5 inches long by 4.5 inches wide - probably a 9-inch LCD screen - and sport both Bluetooth, WiFi b/g and 3G connectivity (HDSPA and EVDO).
Welcome to the band wagon Sony.

Sony preparing a WWAN-equiped VAIO? The FCC says yes

... market.
The few details that were listed, have this as model numbers PCG-1P1L and PCG-1P2L. Additionally, they are shown to feature Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth as well as EVDO and HSPA. So far, there is not any information regarding a display size, operating system or other features. The one drawback that I can see here is that, assuming this is truly a VAIO netbook, the price will most likely not be at the same level as other netbooks.

... to not compete with the slew of netbooks its competitors have been selling like hot cakes. Not much but enough is known about the two new models known as the PCG-1P1L and PCG-1P2L. The PCG prefix is known to represent Sony’s VAIO portable line and the dimensions of these latest models match typical netbook sizes, approximately 9.5 inches long by 4.5 inches wide. We’re excited to see Sony showing interest in the netbook market and can’t wait to get our hands on it! Link [ via ]
Sony's forthcoming Vaio netbook spotted

... We would hazard a guess at a choice of solid state or hard drive storage too. Sadly, the phantom photographer wasn't be able to flip the machine (or find the other section) for a more graphic top shot, so we'll just have to presume it looks like your average Vaio. And judging by the time of year, we can presume that Sony will be showing this off at January's CES, where T3 will obviously be out in force - taking more interesting photos than you see here.
